We kicked off The Zumiez Couch Tour 2008 in Seattle. After some extensive course drying, we ran the open qualifier for BFF. Its always tough to do an invite-only comp because you feel like you left someone out off the mix. The guys that advance from the qualifiers ripped! Robby Repp was landing tons of tricks, Chris Baldwin had the smoothest style of the day. Danny Tumia had great flow, and last years winner Mike Patterson is even better than [...]

Best Foot Forward 2008: Denver, CO

Denver is always on the top of my list when it comes to cities on tour that I anticipate the most. The great skate scene and the 300+ days of sunshine per year, makes it a no-brainer. Top 3 in the comp went like this. 3rd went to young Phil Hansen with his usual fast paced style and tricks like a double heel flip. 2nd went to last years Denver winner, Jared Stoots as he killed the tranny and landed gap to noseblunt and more. 1st place went to last [...]

Brand new for this year’s BFF is the open qualifier round just before the invite-only round. It’s a great way for guys that we missed to make sure we knew that we blew it by not inviting them. They skate an extra jam session in the intense heat with a little chip on their shoulder. Once the top skaters move into the invite round, they are already tired. From there, they have the opportunity to skate in the Finals right after the Pro demo. That’s a lot of [...]

Best Foot Forward 2008: Milipitas, CA

The BFF comp went off in Nor Cal! Unfortunately we had to cut off the number of entries for the open qualifier and maxed out the invite-only list too. In only our second year for BFF the word is getting out there, and the “who’s who” is the Bay Area skate scene showed up to be a part of it. We had the up and coming youngsters 8-12 years old, a talented girl (Leila Langi) and the rest of the guys out there killing it all afternoon. 3rd went to last year’s [...]
